Belco Improves Distribution of FSC Structural Commodities

Building material distribution improves in Puget Sound region.

Belco Forest Products, a Tacoma based wholesale distributor of building materials, was recently certified for FSC chain of custody and is in the process of adding FSC items to their inventory. As a large scale distributor serving lumberyards and production builders, Belco's distribution capabilities will give customers the option of not having to order truckload quantities directly from mills. Customers will also have the advantage of purchasing the quantities they need as the market develops, something most distributors don't normally do with commodity lumber items.

Belco is currently stocking Douglas-fir lumber and should have a variety of panel products available in the coming weeks. They will add additional products lines as the market develops. Belco's Shelton remanufacturing facility also offers custom processing options including kiln drying, planing, molding, and precision end trimming for studs.

“Sustainability is essential to the future of the forest products industry, and business in general. We want to give our customers every edge in the marketplace possible and we will continue our efforts to do so” says Bill Staley, President & CEO.
