Three new mills have recently gotten FSC® certified in Washington and Oregon
Three new mills have recently gotten FSC® certified in Washington and Oregon - two near Vancouver and one near Eugene. All are in response to growth in regional, national and international demand for FSC building materials, both structural and finish.
Columbia Vista - This Vancouver area mill buys Doug-fir and focuses on a variety of smaller dimension timbers markets (4x, cross-arms, export) and produces some framing lumber as fall down product. Go Figure Hardwoods - This Eugene area hardwood mill focuses on maple, madrone, and myrtlewood and is certified through the Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities Partnership's group chain of custody program. They specialize in figured hardwoods, but produce all grades, book matched set, sequential cuts, whole tree units, and color matched sorts.
